The National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire is the "gold standard" for functional vision assessment in quality of life studies.  Unfortunately, administration of the VFQ is both expensive and time-consuming for vision-care professionals and patients, alike.

Clear Vision Foundation, working with E-Agent NZ, has now introduced a revolutionary new platform for the VFQ: the iVFQ™, which allows patient self-administration of a version of the VFQ using the Apple® iPhone® or iPod Touch®.  This new "app" will be available shortly for download by vision care professionals interested in providing a new quality of life insight for their patients.

Using this new program, patients, even those with severe vision deficits, will be able to rapidly respond to the iVFQ™ and a complete, patient-friendly set of adaptive suggestions is then instantly emailed to the provider's office for discussion with the patient and his/her family.  Raw results are also provided for charting purposes, and a fully secure, anonymized patient database is maintained for longitudinal studies and future research uses.
